Mentoring (Copy)If you’re not sure you need a mentor read “Do I need a mentor?” in the Knowledge Centre.

Together we’ll have an initial goal setting session to agree the priorities for the mentoring sessions and to set some goals.

Mentoring sessions will then be weekly or fortnightly, and we’ll work on achieving your goals each session.

At the end of each session you’ll be set some actions to go away and work on – if you don’t then you won’t get the full value out of the mentoring programme.

It’s very much a step-by-step process in order to make sure that you do achieve your goals rather than you setting goals and then you’re left to get on with it on your own.

Who is it for?

The three and six-month programmes have been designed specifically for people that have already got existing social enterprises rather than for start-ups because if you’re in the start-up phase, generally what you need is perhaps one or two mentoring sessions to get you started (these can be booked as individual sessions). Whereas people that have existing social enterprises tend to have more areas they need support with so the three and six-month programmes work much better for them.

The programme is designed over three or six-month periods because they are ideal periods over which to set goals and prioritise things. People usually set goals for 90 days or three months and what that means is you could potentially work through four sets of goals and objectives for your organisation, and very quickly move from one particular issue to another, over the course of a year.

Key Benefits:

  • Achieve your goals
  • Keep you accountable and on track
  • Help to resolve issues and constructive criticism to help you progress
  • Improve your focus and time management so you get more done in less time
