The Buy Social campaign by SEUK – have you seen it? Ooooh, it’s a good’un. It’s encouraging people to buy more from social enterprises, shining a light on all the brilliance of our country’s tenacious social entrepreneurs.
The biggest thing wrong with 95% of the social media posts I see about sustainability, is that they aren’t actually about sustainability at all – they’re about selling us an alternative that is “better” than our current option.
As a social entrepreneur, you’re definitely au fait with the odd acronym or two. CSR, ROI, NFP – the list goes on… But, are you aware of arguably the most important: SDGs? SDGs are Sustainable Development Goals, aka, ‘Global Goals’.
It’s no secret that I believe the ultimate goal of a Social Enterprise should be not to need to exist… after all, if their mission is to end a world problem, not existing means they’ve succeeded, yes?
